# Share Your Inventory

> Invite trusted family members or co-owners to edit your inventory together

Household Collaboration lets you invite a trusted person — a partner, family member, or co-owner — to edit your inventory alongside you. Invited collaborators get full edit access across all your homes.

  Household Collaboration uses iCloud. Both you and the person you invite must have an iCloud account.

## What Collaborators Can Do

Invited users have **full edit access** across all your homes:

* Add, edit, and delete inventory items
* Manage rooms and locations
* View and update insurance policy details
* Access all homes you've added

There is currently no view-only access tier — sharing is designed for trusted co-owners and household members.

## Sending an Invite

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Home Settings">
    Go to **Settings** and tap **Manage Homes**, then select the home you want to share.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap Sharing">
    Select **Sharing** from the home settings menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite a collaborator">
    Tap **Add Person** and enter their iCloud email address or Apple ID.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invite">
    Tap **Send Invite**. The recipient will get a notification to accept.
  </Step>

## Accepting an Invite

When someone invites you to their inventory:

1. You'll receive a notification on your device
2. Open the notification or launch MovingBox
3. A prompt will appear asking you to accept or decline the invitation
4. Once accepted, the shared homes appear in your sidebar alongside your own homes

## Removing a Collaborator

    Go to **Settings** → **Manage Homes** and select the home.

  <Step title="Open Sharing">
    Tap **Sharing** to see current collaborators.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove the person">
    Swipe left on their name and tap **Remove**, or tap their name and select **Remove Access**.

Once removed, they will no longer be able to view or edit the inventory.

## iCloud Requirements

* Both the inviter and invitee must be signed into iCloud
* Both devices must have an internet connection to accept invites and sync changes
* Changes sync automatically — no manual sync required

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Can invited users only view, not edit?**
Not yet — all invited collaborators have full edit access. A view-only tier is not currently available.

**Do shared homes sync to the invited person's device?**
Yes. Once the invite is accepted, shared homes appear in their sidebar and stay in sync via iCloud.

**What happens if I change phones?**
Shared homes carry over automatically via iCloud. Sign into the same Apple ID on your new device and everything will be there.
