# Customize Home Details

> Learn how to set up and manage your homes, including multi-home support

MovingBox lets you manage inventory across multiple properties — your primary residence, a vacation home, a rental unit, or an office. Each home has its own rooms, insurance policy, and complete inventory. This guide covers how to add homes, edit their details, and manage insurance policies.

## Managing Multiple Homes

### Adding a New Home

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Manage Homes">
    Go to **Settings** and tap **Manage Homes**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a home">
    Tap **+ New Home** and enter a name for the property (e.g., "Vacation Cabin" or "Office").
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in details">
    Optionally add an address, photo, and other details. Tap **Save** when done.
  </Step>

### Switching Between Homes

Use the **sidebar** to switch between your homes. Tap a home's name to make it active. The dashboard and all views update to show that home's inventory.

Use **All Inventory** at the top of the sidebar to search and browse items across all your homes at once.

### Editing Home Name, Address, or Photo

    Go to **Settings** → **Manage Homes** and tap the home you want to edit.

  <Step title="Edit details">
    Update the home's name, address, or cover photo. Changes are saved automatically.

  **Labels are global** — they apply across all your homes. Rooms and insurance policies are per-home.

## Setting Up Home Details

    In **Manage Homes**, tap a home and select **Home Details**.

  <Step title="Enter Address Information">
    * Add your street address
    * Enter your city, state/province
    * Include your ZIP/Postal code
    * Select your country

    Your home details are saved automatically as you enter them.
  </Step>

  Adding address details is optional but useful for insurance documentation.

## Adding Insurance Policy Information

Each home has its own insurance policy. MovingBox allows you to store insurance details for each property separately, so your records stay organized across multiple homes.

  Having your insurance policy details readily available in the app can be invaluable if you ever need to file a claim.

    In the Home Details screen, scroll down to the "Insurance Policy" section

  <Step title="Add Insurance Provider">
    Enter the name of your insurance company
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Policy Details">
    * Add your policy number
    * Set the policy start date
    * Set the policy end date
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Coverage Details">
    Enter information about your coverage:

    * Deductible amount
    * Dwelling coverage
    * Personal property coverage
    * Loss of use coverage
    * Liability coverage
    * Medical payments coverage
